Toledo Chinese School, founded in the 1970s, was initially housed in the Chinese Alliance Church. It was sponsored by parents, the Chinese Church, and the Chinese community. In 2007, the school rebranded as the Chinese Center of Toledo (CCT) — a Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization — and relocated from the Chinese Alliance Church to Maumee Valley Country Day School. This move greatly enhanced the overall educational environment by providing professional teaching facilities for both parents and students.
Today, CCT boasts an enrollment of nearly 100 students, supported by a dedicated team of 8 board members and 12 faculty and staff members. It is the only institution in Toledo offering Chinese language classes for both heritage and English-speaking families, for students as young as 3 years old. Beyond language education, we also immerse our community in Chinese culture through cultural celebrations, traditional food explorations, and community events. Additionally, we provide a diverse range of enrichment classes such as martial arts, math, and drawing to offer a comprehensive educational experience. Our teaching staff, the majority of whom are native Chinese speakers, are highly skilled and committed to excellence. Classes take place weekly on Saturdays from 12:00-2:00 p.m. For more information, please feel free to reach out to us at toledochineseschool@gmail.com.
